Lesson 16: Internet and Education

Internet and Education are two differnt terms but they are associated with each other. Internet has provide a gateway for Education to better gather more information and acquisition of knowledge for both teachers and students. It has also provide various connections among schools and other learning agencies in order to come up with a common goal and that is for the sake og the learners. Internet is indeed a great contribution in the field of Education

Lesson 15: Understanding Hypermedia

What is hypermedia? Hypermedia is nothing but multimedia, but this time packaged as an educational computer software where information is presented and student activities are integrated in a virtual learning environment. The presentation of information- learning activities in hypermedia is said to be sequenced in a non-linear manner, meaning learners may follow hi9s path of activities thus providing an environment of learning autonomy and thinking skills. In general, Hypermedia keeps away the students from tasks that requires low-level response but rather focus on  developing students integration of knowledge and higher order thinking skills.

Lesson 14: The Software as an Educational Resource

We all know that computer always takes a big contribution in accomplishing tasks more effectively. But what really makes the computer useful? Answer is its software.
computer software is a program installed in the computer in order to accomplish certain tasks. This program is created in accordance to what people commonly try to accomplish. This is waht makes software a resource since it is where a ceratin function is produced. In short, it is not really the computer structure which provides resources for humans, but it is its software that offers them the things they need to accomplish a tasks.

Lesson 13: Cooperative Learning with the Computer

It is believed that learning is better attained when it is done by two or more individuals working together in order to accomplish certain learning goals. Now, How is it effective when accompanied by computer?
Researchers have made studies on learning instructions between the student and the computer. The studies have great value since it has been a long standing fear taht computer may foster students isolation on learning.
Now, this mythical fear has been contradicted by studies which show that when students work with computers in groups, they cluster and interact with each other for advice and help. In short, computer is natural learning vehicle for cooperative learning.

Lesson 12: Information /technology in Support of Student- Centered Learning

Through the introduction of information technology on the field of education, there has been a great transition from a traditional classroom setting to a more modern and effective classroom setup. Before, it was more on the teacher-centred approach, when the teacher dominates the class and there is less student's participation. Now, it has diverted to a student- centered approach where learners become active participant and more learning opportunities are handed to students. In general, Information technology can awaken the students sleeping minds to become active learner

Lesson 11: The Computer as the Teachers Tool

Computer has been widely used all over the world. It has made life easy to every people of different profession. One field that greatly uses computer is the education field. Without the computer, today's learners may still be consuming the tedious tasks of low-level information gathering, building, and new knowledge packaging. But this is not so, since the modern computer can help teacher and students to focus on more high-level cognitive tasks. Teachers can employ computer as an information tool, constructive tool, situating tool,. Computer has various uses for teachers and its a a challenge for a teacher how to use it effectively.

Lesson 10: Computer as a Tutor

Before the quick progress of technology all over the globe, it was impossible for anything to assist or tutor a man, but it is only the man who can teach other man. Now, through the emergence of computer' it has defy such impossibility.
The computer can be a tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his personal role as classroom tutor. However, computer cannot totally replace the  teacher since the teacher shall continue to play the major role of information deliveries and learning environment controller. Shortly, computer can assist a man but it needs a man to work.

Lesson 9: Computer as Information and Communication Technology

The third revolution of technology, computer, has greatly emerged as the primary tool for fast, reliable, accurate and easier communication and accomplishment of tasks. Througn nh this, educators saw the amplification of learning along with computer literacy. Much like reading,  student can interact with computer messages even respond to question or to computer commands. Again, like writing, the learner can  form messages using computer language. In short, computer has provide learners a medium for communication and information.of tasks.

Lesson 7

Upgraded project method is a revised and more improved project method wherein it focuses more on the process on how the output is being done.instead of the output itself. It is designed to develop learners higher order thinking skill at the same time it also develops the potentials of the students regarding their creative skills. Furthermore, it also made the students reflect from their own on how the project is done or what to put on the project to make it presentable and aesthetically pleasing. This  is very much more effective than the the traditional one and also a student friendly revision.

Lesson #6:IT Enters a New Learning Environment

In the teaching-learning process, teachers are abided with the learning models w/c serves as a guide in order to come up with a best instruction to offer to each learners. The said models are meaningful learning, Generative learning, and Constructivism. The question now is "How will teachers used these models effectively in the integration of technology in the instruction"??. Lets define first each models:
Meaningful learning- gives focus to new experiences that is related to what learners already know.
Discovery learning- students perform tasks to uncover what is to be learned.
Generative learning- learners attend to learning events and draw inferences.
Constructivism- learners builds a personal understanding through appropriate learning activities and good learning environment.
These 4 models just simply goes down to the interaction of the student to its environment and Technology has something to do with that.

State-of-the-Art ET Application Practices

Nowadays, technology has quickly moved forward from time to time. that is why teachers should also be mindful of the ongoing dominance of computer in students' lives.
Teachers must not only be a computer literate but a competent user as well. Teachers would find a hard time in the integration of technology in instruction if he don't even have the mastery of the use of computer. It is therefor imperative for all teachers to acquire knowledge and skills regarding the use of computer in order to easily infuse technology in the students' learning. However, some teachers have negative view on the use of technology. They somehow believed that because of the speedy advancement of technology, later on it will substitute the teachers. Furthermore, they also believed that the use of computer is time consuming and expensive Whatever they might say, we cant hide the fact that we are now on the Technology Dominated Era. They must instill in their minds that if technology can make things easier and faster,it can also do the same to the teaching- learning process.

BAsic Concepts on Integrating Technology in Instruction

The use of computers in classroom doesn't define what "Integration of Technology" really means. Instead, technology must occupy a position in all instructional processes.
 To determine that there is Technology integration in instruction, the ff. must be shown;
*Transformation from the traditional way of teaching
   * High quality of instruction is handed to students through the use of technology.
*Timely plans in how and when the use of technology best fits to the instruction.
*Use of technology should resolved the common instructional problems.

Lesson # 2: An overview of Educational Technology 2

Educational Technology 2 is primarily emphasizing the " Integration of technology into Teaching and Learning". If Educational Technology 1 has made us enter to the portal of modernization and allowed us to see the importance of technology in the learning process, Educational Technology 2 has a deeper task to offer for every students. Its main focus is to promote the application of technology in the student-teachers training, helping us to adapt and meet the ongoing technological changes. Furthermore, it will provide descent information as to how we can use technology in the class and engage learners into a more fun and interactive learning activity. It also urges the students to enhance their so called higher order thinking skills and get away from the tasks that requires low level of thinking. Adding to that, it will also encourage the learners to develop their creative skills and successfully transform the students sleeping minds.

Lesson # 1: Review of Educational Technology

Educational technology 1 has become a guide for every students to be aware and conscious of how technology aids in the process of learning. It delivers many information on the significance of technology regarding its application to education. It also made learners to appreciate the use of technology and drove their interests in exercising and enhancing their computer skills. In behalf of the advantages that technology has brought to us, learners also knew the disadvantages behind the continuing progress of  technology. Through this course, learners became mindful on how to use technology in the proper way and avoid or eliminate its negative effects to the people. Lastly, Edtech 1 has opened the minds of the learners to finally get away from the traditional view of teaching and entered the door towards modernization.
