Lesson 16: Internet and Education

Internet and Education are two differnt terms but they are associated with each other. Internet has provide a gateway for Education to better gather more information and acquisition of knowledge for both teachers and students. It has also provide various connections among schools and other learning agencies in order to come up with a common goal and that is for the sake og the learners. Internet is indeed a great contribution in the field of Education

Lesson 15: Understanding Hypermedia

What is hypermedia? Hypermedia is nothing but multimedia, but this time packaged as an educational computer software where information is presented and student activities are integrated in a virtual learning environment. The presentation of information- learning activities in hypermedia is said to be sequenced in a non-linear manner, meaning learners may follow hi9s path of activities thus providing an environment of learning autonomy and thinking skills. In general, Hypermedia keeps away the students from tasks that requires low-level response but rather focus on  developing students integration of knowledge and higher order thinking skills.

Lesson 14: The Software as an Educational Resource

We all know that computer always takes a big contribution in accomplishing tasks more effectively. But what really makes the computer useful? Answer is its software.
computer software is a program installed in the computer in order to accomplish certain tasks. This program is created in accordance to what people commonly try to accomplish. This is waht makes software a resource since it is where a ceratin function is produced. In short, it is not really the computer structure which provides resources for humans, but it is its software that offers them the things they need to accomplish a tasks.

Lesson 13: Cooperative Learning with the Computer

It is believed that learning is better attained when it is done by two or more individuals working together in order to accomplish certain learning goals. Now, How is it effective when accompanied by computer?
Researchers have made studies on learning instructions between the student and the computer. The studies have great value since it has been a long standing fear taht computer may foster students isolation on learning.
Now, this mythical fear has been contradicted by studies which show that when students work with computers in groups, they cluster and interact with each other for advice and help. In short, computer is natural learning vehicle for cooperative learning.

Lesson 12: Information /technology in Support of Student- Centered Learning

Through the introduction of information technology on the field of education, there has been a great transition from a traditional classroom setting to a more modern and effective classroom setup. Before, it was more on the teacher-centred approach,when the teacher dominates the class and there is less student's participation. Now, it has diverted to a student- centered approach where learners become active participant and more learning opportunities are handed to students. In general, Information technology can awaken the students sleeping minds to become active learner

Lesson 11: The Computer as the Teachers Tool

Computer has been widely used all over the world. It has made life easy to every people of different profession. One field that greatly uses computer is the education field. Without the computer, today's learners may still be consuming the tedious tasks of low-level information gathering, building, and new knowledge packaging. But this is not so, since the modern computer can help teacher and students to focus on more high-level cognitive tasks. Teachers can employ computer as an information tool, constructive tool, situating tool,. Computer has various uses for teachers and its a a challenge for a teacher how to use it effectively.  

Lesson 10: Computer as a Tutor

       Before the quick progress of technology all over the globe, it was impossible for anything to assist or tutor a man, but it is only the man who can teach other man. Now, through the emergence of computer' it has defy such impossibility.
      The computer can be a tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his personal role as classroom tutor. However, computer cannot totally replace the  teacher since the teacher shall continue to play the major role of information deliveries and learning environment controller. Shortly, computer can assist a man but it needs a man to work.
